Traditional animator turned painter, I've been producing artwork since 1995 and have spent five years studying art and animation at colleges in Bournemouth and Dublin.

I've animated and directed one short film, Moonshadows, which was nominated for a British Animation Award in 2000 and was shown at the Annecy and Krok animation festivals. I've also produced animation for two other short films, Stars and Ear Meets Foot.

Since 2000 I have focused on life drawing and spent the last eight years improving my artwork and moving from charcoal and pencils to oil painting. In the last two years I have broadened my range with landscape artwork and will be focusing more on animal artwork in 2008. You can see more examples of my artwork on my website at www.jonnagl.com.

In 2006 I produced a small fold-out sketchbook filled with watercolour drawings I produced of the Cow Parade in Edinburgh during that summer. The sketchbook, titled Mooskine, was subsequently auctioned, raising £1500 for charity.
