Most of the silk paintings featured here were painted and inspired by 8 years of living in the unforgettable Laguna Beach, California.
Lefty drawings inspired by friends, mentors, and guides, both real and imagined.
Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Canada Kathy Crabbe currently lives amongst ancient oaks in an elfin forest with her pet dog and pet husband. She has been making stuff forever!

WHY THE NAME LULU ?
The name 'LuLu' is actually the name of an alter ego/cartoon character I created in graphic design school; she helped me stay sane and joyful through many a sleepless night!
WHO ARE THE LEFTYS ?
The Leftys are not just simple watercolor line drawings, they are mentors, guides and best friends.
I drew the Leftys with my non dominant hand because my right hand got bored one day and lost it’s sense of humor.
I like being in the Lefty world; it is gentle, sweet, slow and strange. I felt awkward at first but over time I adjusted; although my writing never did!
The Leftys have led me into some pretty amazing adventures over the years such as:
- creating a zine with 17 issues and subscribers
- being onstage with Michelle Shocked who introduced me by singing my fave song "When I grow up"
- giving psychic readings with a deck of Lefty Tarot cards
- being included in several museum shows
- being in many library zine collections
- winning first prize in a cartoon contest
- cartooning in magazines, books and newspapers
- being a regular paid cartoonist for Kiss Machine
- creating a writer’s group, a book, many Lefty chapbooks and gave poetry readings
- took Polaroids called Lefty Poseurs of many people including the Palm Springs Red Hat gals who posed on the beach in Laguna wearing purple outfits, red hats and feather boas
- squawking their way into Will Ferrell's art collection
WHAT IS A SOUL CARD READING?
A soul card reading by Kathy will help you gain clarity and insight about your soul’s mission in life along with the tools necessary to bring about significant energy shifts. Kathy requests past, present and future guidance from the Divine, your ancestors and spirit guides to provide you with detailed answers to all your questions. Kathy works primarily with three magickal decks of her own creation: the lefty oracle cards, the goddess zodiac cards, and the fairy herbal healing cards. She also works with crystal healing exercises, astrological meditations and spoken affirmations to help promote your own sense of well-being and self-healing.

The Zodiac Goddess Deck features Goddesses for each of the Astrological signs and was originally painted for Kathy's book titled The Zodiac Goddess Playbook.
The Herbal Deck features fairy and cat herbal watercolors, each associated with a particular magical herb or flower.
HOW IS IT DONE?
Kathy will begin your reading by meditating, grounding, clearing and chakra balancing with the help of her pink, quartz, crystal ball and her jet black ball. She requests from Spirit an open heart and a clear channel to provide you with information that is only for the deepest, highest, and most profound good of your soul. These readings have helped many clients get more in touch with their true self by providing them with renewed faith, guidance, connection and insight into their soul's path.

WHAT IS AN ASTROLOGICAL CHART?
A professional astrologer can offer their client an understanding of their entire chart based upon the art of interpretation. This involves analyzing the chart as a whole rather than breaking it up into parts like a computer would do and that is why a computer printout may, at times, appear to be contradictory.
An astrological chart is like a blueprint of your soul. It is a way to tap into your inner psyche so you can understand yourself and others better. It is your personal connection with the heavens, the celestial bodies, the stars and the universe. It is a way to tap into the bigger picture and also keep track of generations, civilizations and time periods throughout history.
An astrological chart is figured out mathematically; first I plug all the numbers into my computer program and for this I require your exact time, date and place of birth. Astrology is all about timing; whole generations of us go through major events (called transits) together so astrology can help us be better prepared. The big four transits are:
1. Saturn Return (around age 30)
2. Uranus Opposition (around age 40)
3. Chiron Return (around age 50)
4. Second Saturn Return (around age 60)
MY INTUITIVE & PSYCHIC BACKGROUND:
I am currently forty-three years old and have been guided by the psychic realms since childhood. I have kept a Dream Journal since I was thirteen and my dreams and intuition have always been a great source of insight for me. I have been drawing, studying and analyzing people from a very young age and I can provide anyone with a myriad of personality tests such as: (my favorite) Astrology, the Enneagram, the Kiersey Temperament Sorter and the Clifton StrengthsFinder.
