My name is Laura and I am a professional Hand Embroiderer. In 2005 I graduated from the Royal School of Needlework's unique apprenticeship.
My aim is to design and make unique hand embroidered jewellery. I love under taking commissions so if you see an item already listed but would prefer it in another combination, or a completely new piece unique to you, then please contact me.
All items are hand embroidered by me, in a lovely workroom come bedroom (though personally you couldn't tell it was a bedroom if you couldn't see the bed).
All items are made in a pet and smoke free home.
Nearly all my products are stitched on gorgeous Silk Dupion and all items come packaged appropriately for the piece, and all jewellery comes packaged in organza bags.
Why do you stitch on Silk? - This was a fabric that I learnt to embroider on during my apprenticeship, and I have learnt to love the huge variety of colours it comes in (over 250 varieties of colours and styles are available), and it's very forgiving fabric to stitch on.
How to take care of Silk - this is a tricky one, like with most jewellery do not wear whilst washing your hands, if you do inadvertently get water on it, dry it gently with a hair dryer, or pat it dry. There will always be an element of risk of getting a water mark. If you get most of the silk wet, it's better to wet the rest of the silk, then dry it off. Also do not put make up on whilst wearing your jewellery otherwise you will mark the silk.
