A mon sujet
My name is Aurea Praga and I'm Portuguese.
I have a degree in Graphic Design and started making jewelry in 2005.
My link with jewelry happened in the first classes I attended.
I found in metal working the perfect media for my urge to communicate ideas, and they just keep coming.
Now I'm starting a Post Graduation in Jewelry Design.
I work with traditional jewelry techniques but approach them with a free spirit.
I find my inspiration in the contrast of cultures but mostly in the places they blend together into new hybrid concepts.
Sushi and rock'n'roll. Fashion magazines and cherry blossoms. Urban landscapes and fairytales.
Every piece I make has a background story. They are little stories that you can actually wear. And by wearing it you express your ideas or your moods and personality as each piece becomes a part of you. Of your image.
