News > Listing Fees
elizabeth 07.04.2008 17:12Hi everyone,
We are working on updating the Fees page with this info, just to let you know in case you are worried about it, that it will be quite some time before we finalise the details of the listing fees program.
Please be aware, there will be at least one month's notice before the listing fees plan starts, when and if. So you will hear the news officially from us in plenty of time.
Until then, don't worry about it, and list away! The catalogue awaits your goodies : )
Thanks for joining us at DaWanda, it is really great to have you here!
bestest,
Eliz
SarasTextureCrafts 09.04.2008 09:18Thanks Elizabeth!
magpienest 10.04.2008 15:15thanks for the update! :-)
kalicat 10.04.2008 22:37Oh! Do you mean we will have to pay to list our items?
Will we also have to pay for teh items that have already been listed in the past?
elizabeth 11.04.2008 10:43hi Kalicat, your listing fees will NOT be backdated. When the listing fees program starts, it will apply to items listed from that date onwards.
kalicat 12.04.2008 14:49Thanks Elizabeth
Just another silly question,
If an item is sold out and that I then change the quantity from 0 to 1 or 2, will I then have a listing fee?
elizabeth 15.04.2008 15:13hi Kalicat,
At the moment the details are not finalised so I don't have the answer for your question, but as soon as everything is sorted out, you will know!
best,
Eliz.
kalicat 17.04.2008 12:34Thanks

SunnyDay 12.05.2008 14:46Good to know that the fees won't be back dated.
Is June 1st the starting date for fees?????
Tollsten 13.05.2008 00:42Maybe I'm wrong, but if you became a member of Dawanda before a certain date last year, you would never have any listing fees, ever? Am I right, or have I mixed it up? Or was it just a sweet dream : ))
JoliBebe 13.05.2008 08:29Hello Tollsten.
I have read a few different things about fees, but they have all said the same thing, which is what Elizabeth has said above. But I haven't read anything about people who joined prior to a certain date never having listing fees ever. However that doesn't mean that it's not true, just that I haven't seen it written anywhere.
I'd love to know about this from an admin. :-)
Tollsten 13.05.2008 12:46It was some information about a year ago. But it was probebly my somtimes poor english that made me misunderstand the hole thing.
Great shop by the way JoliBebe
BeauMonde 29.05.2008 06:04Any updates on when the listing fees will start?
William 29.05.2008 14:28Hi everybody,
The current listing fee news is that we won't be charging them in the foreseeable future! We are looking at the possibility of introducing another system within the next few months but don't worry, we'll be sure to keep you all up to date with all info.
Thanks!
Will
BeauMonde 29.05.2008 17:35Thanks William!!
Florcita 23.06.2008 07:58Well, this is a first for me! hahaha I feel silly! I didn't know this was in the works... i thought the greatest difference with that other site was that there were no listing fees, but a percentage on the way out... I understand that we all want to make money :) but I thought it was very cool that one didnt have to pay for listing (when you might never sell it...). In fact, when i try to promote dawanda, i make enpahsis on this fact, because it sets it apart!
I see what William says, I just wanted to add my two cents.
AspenSpa 23.06.2008 21:02Good to know, thank you!
yoola 25.06.2008 08:41good to know, thanks :)
Maggiejo 26.06.2008 15:04Hi everyone above! I understood about the possibility of fees for listing when I joined in February this year. The jury is still out whether or not I am going to sell on this site at all, so I think, as many other members feel, that I will be reluctant to keep listing (at a charge), which defeats the object of updating regularly with similar/different coloured work. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
Baggavond 12.07.2008 00:07Hi! I was just wondering if there is any update on the "Listing Fees" issue.
I come here from Etsy where we are charged 20 cents (dollars) per listing - so if we renewed the item it would cost another 20 cents ...and so on and so on. I can get quite expensive to keep your shop "fresh" and many sellers get frustrated with the bill they end up having to pay even if their item doesn't sell.
I understand the site needs to make some profit from the sellers to be able to be competitive and to survive....when I signed up with DaWanda I noticed the commission that DaWanda makes from the sale of an item is quite a bit more than Etsy. However, since there was no charge for listing an item I was okay with that. But, if the commission stays the same AND DaWanda adds a listing fee I don't think it will be worth my time to continue to sell here.
That is just my opinion ... I know I am new here, but am enjoying the fresh look and feel of DaWanda! Thanks everyone.
