This is a 100% Unbleached natural cotton calico fibre shopping bag featuring an original artwork on one side.

The artwork is silkscreen print of a pigeon printed in red ink. The design was drawn from a pigeon from the Melbourne Museum bird collection. I then cut out the drawing and used the stencil to print the design.

I decided I wanted to do original artworks on shopping bags, as a lot of the ones available are boring and ugly. I like the idea of having a bag, which can be used on a daily basis, that also has an original artwork on it. I think art should be accessible to everyone and out there for all to see, even in the canned meat section of the supermarket!
